Handmade Tortillas
White and blue corn, pressed fresh throughout the day. Soft, pliable, and still warm when they leave our counter. We make more than we sell — that's how we know they're fresh.

Handmade tortillas, pan dulce pulled from the oven each morning, and carnitas slow-braised the way your abuela would recognize. Come in — it smells like home.
Carnitas La Michoacana began as a small family kitchen in Michoacán, where my mother taught me that the difference between good food and memorable food is patience — and a willingness to show up early.
When we brought that kitchen to Chicago Heights, we brought the same recipes, the same rhythm, and the same commitment to doing things the long way. Every tortilla is hand-pressed. Every batch of carnitas is slow-cooked in copper pots until the edges go dark and crisp. Every piece of pan dulce is shaped by hand before it ever touches the oven.
We're not the fastest counter in town. But we've never rushed anything worth making.
The Family That Bakes It
Chicago Heights, Illinois
Four things we do, and nothing we do poorly.
White and blue corn, pressed fresh throughout the day. Soft, pliable, and still warm when they leave our counter. We make more than we sell — that's how we know they're fresh.
Orejas, cuernos, conchas, cuates — each one shaped before dawn. We bake in small batches so the first customer always gets what the last customer missed.
Pork shoulder braised in lard over low heat for hours, until the outside crisps and the inside falls apart. Served with salsa verde, onion, and a tortilla — always a tortilla.
Chiles, masa, moles, salsas, and ingredients we'd actually use in our own kitchen. If it doesn't come from Michoacán or pass our standard, it doesn't sit on our shelf.
Whether it's a birthday, a quinceañera, a Sunday family dinner, or a community event — we build the menu around what you need, not what's easiest to ship.
We discuss every order personally — no automated forms, no runaround.
